Universities across the U.K. are producing thousands of graduates every year who do not have the skills employers are looking for or the confidence and expertise to start their own businesses. In effect, our education system is putting the best and brightest of our nation through 3 years of study which in many cases has incredibly limited practical application. Canterbury Enterprise Group is a student owned and run organisation which aims to tackle this problem.
At C.E.G. we do two things, we help students start up their own businesses and we develop our interns’ skills to ensure they have what it takes to get top jobs. We achieve this by providing a platform for students to launch their careers from, this platform provides the following services:
- Peer led entrepreneurial and motivational working/social environment
- Internships for students to work in student businesses
- Office space for our entrepreneurs to work from
- Marketing Department support for our entrepreneurs (P.R., social media, design, photography etc)
- Access to an international network via Nacue, Icue and Kairos
- Invitations to great events, conferences and workshops
- Space, time and teams for leaders to develop their skills with
- Financial advice (book keeping, tax law etc)
